Leagues (written by Tameka Moon) Empty

(I'm on the phone with her right now and she said it was fine for me to post this.)

Leagues

For some, leagues are very important to their stay on Teripets. To others, it’s not a big deal. And then to even less, it’s a nuisance.
If you’d like to learn about leagues and what you can do with them, I’d suggest reading on.

There is generally five, or maybe even six if you consider it one, ranks that someone will belong to in a league.
The first and most powerful is the owner. The owner can do anything in a league that he or she would like to. An owner can do everything on the admin panel.
Up next would be the council. Usually a league owner would hire up to 5 council members, but it is possible to put multiple people on one council position. The council area has owner on top, and then underneath is everything who was appointed council starting at one on the top, descending to where five is at the bottom. Some league owners may have there own rules stating that each council is different, while others treat them all as the same. Council members can do anything on the league admin panel except for certain things like deleting a league and appointing other council, because those are restricted to owner only. They can do things like hire staff, reset league colors, edit the league, give money to other members, take from the league basement, and some other things.
If you aren’t an owner or council, then you could be a staff member. A league can have as many, or as little, staff as the owner and council want. Staff members are able to do things like check money transfer logs, edit, create, or delete news, kick members out, and more. Some leagues have special rules as too what staff can and cannot do, or maybe your league has special jobs for each staff, so I’d suggest checking with your league owner about that if your made a staff member.
Then your have your everyday member. They can do things like donate items to the league from their supply room, donate TeriCoins directly from the league, post on the boards, view the league basement, check out the members only page, and of course, if your not satisfied with the league, leave it.
Battle squad members are also important to your league. A league can have up to four members on its battle squad. You will probably have a better chance of getting on the battle squad if your have strong pets, good weapons, and are on often. Leagues can compete against each other in the battle realm with the members of their battle squad. Members of your battle squad can be everyday members, staff, council, or even the owner. It’s the leagues choice!
Last but not least is just a visitor. A visitor doesn’t belong to your league in any way, they can just, well, visit. Visitors are able to see your league homepage, who is on staff, what members belong to the league, and who is on the league battle squad. They are not able to do any thing that an everyday member is able to. However visitors are able to join the league if they wish. If the league is public, once they confirm they’ll immediately be a member. If the league is private, staff, council, or the owner will have to accept first in order for you too join. Many leagues become private because they have certain requirements, so scan the homepage and news for anything that might suggest likewise.

Every league has two pages where council and the owner can insert whatever they desire. There is the homepage, which is where information that visitors may need to see. Many leagues opt to make this page quite neat as it is like a first impression to visitors, and this one page can make the difference in an extra member or not. Then there is the members only page, and obviously only league members can view this. Often a league will have details and additional things that a visitor has no use in knowing unless they join. Several leagues leave this blank entirely if they can find no use for it. An extra alternative could be just decorating it with icons and alike things just for amusement if no other purpose can be found.
All leagues also can post news. Some choose to make it into one large post that all staff can use to post news and just write the date and who it’s being edited by, while others just make a new post every time necessary. And then the minority ignore the news section all together. In my opinion, you should definitely take advantage of the news, not ignore it! Visitors can also read the latest news so don’t post content made for members only!

Almost all leagues use their unlimited boards space. In the league boards, anyone who belongs to the league can post topics, and reply to others. However certain leagues prefer that only staff post new topics, or that permission is required first, so always read your leagues rules first so you don’t have the risk of getting in trouble for starting a new topic. A league can have as many boards as they’d like, with as many replies as they want, so no worries about running out of space! The league boards are never automatically cleaned or anything like that, so if a board clear was desired league staff, council, and owner, would have to manually go around deleting every single topic, so if you plan on ever having board clean-outs and topics are posted very often, I’d suggest doing it often to avoid excessive build up. Staff, council, and league owners can also delete individual posts in case something against the league rules is posted instead of deleting the entire topic. If the topic has many rule-breaking posts, it would usually be best to delete the topic all together, and maybe start a new one.

Your league also has a league bank. I call it a league bank just because it says league money and it acts like a bank. Anyway, members can donate to the league bank and then council and the owner can use that money and give to themselves or another member. This is often used if the league is saving up to buy something, or the league gives out TeriCoins at all.
Then there is also a league basement. Members contribute to this by selecting an item in their supply room and choosing to donate it to the league, or using speedy stock and selecting what items in their supply room will be sent to the league. Staff, council, and owner, please note that you are not able to see what members donated what items, so to keep track many leagues have a topic on the boards where members are asked to post what they donated. Anyone on council can select an item to send to a member, and once again you will not know about it unless your told so.

Basically that is there all to know about leagues. It’s okay if you just skim and scanned through this, but if you ever plan on really learning about league or owning one, you definitely want to take a few minutes to read the details unless your more of a learn-it-yourself kind of person.

Thanks! That's really helpful! I thought that you could only have 5 people on the council!
