The Epic Poem:Conrad

This is a legend type thing I made up
in a poem.It is actually the longest poem I've ever written!Hope you
like it!

The Legend of Conrad

Shadows fall
Darkness dwells
Even heroes hide
Only doom awaits
For those, the brave
Who step outside their
hiding

Yet one dark night
Well the moon shone
bright
A baby boy was born
They named him Conrad
and he grew
Older every day

One day Conrad decided
to
Kill the evil through

He stepped outside sword
and all
And headed towards the
woods
Hoping to find a goblin
or two

He entered the woods
And climbed a tree
Looking for a goblin
One caught his eye
And he jumped from the
tree
Into a murky swamp

He tried to avoid
Sinking into that
Deep and murky water

He caught sight of
land
And swam to it
Then pulled himself upon
it
Only to find
A band of goblins
waiting
To kill him off slowly
and painfully
Then throw him in the
swamp

Conrad looked at them
But no fear was in his eyes
Instead great bravery shone
He unsheathed his sword
And attacked them
He destroyed them all

He left the forest to go to
the desert
To find a dragon to fight

Sure enough when he
arrived
A sleeping dragon lay

Conrad was about to stab
him
But then the dragon awoke
A jet of fire went at him
And hit him on the
shoulder
Yet he ignored the great
pain.
And threw his sword up the
dragons throat

The dragon fell on the
ground
Still as a dead dragon
For that is what it was

Conrad reached up its
throat
Resisting the great
heat
He pulled out his sword
from it
And wiped the blood and
drool off on the grass

He ran into a troll
Who almost crushed him
dead
But he was too speedy
for him
Who ran around him
Confused him
And stabbed him

As he ran up a hill
A Cyclops waited for
him
To eat him all
But Conrad stabbed him in
the eye
Now that he could not
see
He fell off a cliff while
trying to find him

He continued rushing on
But finding no one
He returned home

When he got there dancing children and
laughing woman greeted him
He laughed and danced with them
While one word went through his head
Victory!

Shadows Fall
Darkness dwells
But do not fear all
For deep within your frightened self
There is great courage

It has 158 lines!I can understand that!

On Microsoft word (Where I typed it) it has a word count, but it also counts lines, characters, and paragraphs. I used that.

Oh okay, I'd die trying to count all of that.
